A car that looks out for you.
The latest B-Class is safer than ever, with innovative equipment including COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS. This updated version of our acclaimed radar-assisted warning system not only alerts you when you get too close to the vehicle in front, but actively intervenes if required. As soon as the system recognises a hazardous situation, autonomous partial braking kicks in, while ADAPTIVE BRAKE ensures you have maximum brake pressure when you need it most.
Other standard features include automatic child seat recognition, which deactivates the front passenger airbag when a child seat is fitted. And a reversing camera, which makes parking and manoeuvring safer and easier.
The B-Class also offers access to our Mercedes me connect services, which provide essential support in the event of an accident or breakdown.

Pros
-
Good acceleration; quiet and luxurious interior; nice slate of options.

Cons
-
Range isn't any better than other, less expensive EVs; less efficient than other EVs; stiff ride quality; pricey options list; less interior space than you'd expect.
For the exterior, look for a new grille and bumper combo, with styling made similar to that seen on the rest of the Mercedes range, particularly on the latest compact offerings such as the CLA and GLA. The headlights are also new and the rear diffuser and exhaust pipe design now matches that seen on prototypes for the next-generation C-Class.
Since the current model, the second generation of the compact MPV, already comes packed with a decent bit of kit, including dual-clutch transmissions, alternative powertrains and an advanced user interface, we suspect there will be few major upgrades on this model.

What's New for 2016
Except for a new model designation (Mercedes-Benz B250e), the Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive is essentially unchanged for 2016
Packed with intelligence.
Blending eye-catching design with exceptional practicality, safety, and efficiency, the B-Class raises the bar in the compact segment.
Styling enhancements include a dynamic front section with larger air intakes and reshaped headlamps. Inside, there’s a new-look leather trimmed steering wheel and ARTICO* leather upholstery as standard.
Engines are more efficient than ever, with reduced CO2 emissions across the range. And with the B 220 d 4MATIC, the B-Class line up even offers the versatility of four-wheel drive.
Safety features now include COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS and a reversing camera, while a larger Media Display has also been added to the car’s extensive standard equipment.
Updated model lines include the SE, Sport, and the AMG Line. Taking dramatic styling cues from our high-performance division, the AMG Line also offers more sporty driving characteristics.
